the long version
Dr. Homer A. Kent, Jr. taught New Testament and Greek at Grace Theological Seminary and Grace College in Winona Lake, IN for some fifty years. He is in his element when discussing The Acts of the Apostles. Luke's second book gives us an up close and personal look at the earliest days of Christ's church. This book explains many of Acts' difficult passages in plain language. When original languages are discussed, explanatory footnotes let non-theologians in on everything. Relevant pictures, many of them the author's own, put the reader into the middle of the action. Although Dr. Kent's scholarship takes a back seat to no-one's, this book is perfectly understandable and useful to unlettered readers. A very good tool for serious Bible study.
