the long version
Marie and Joan have known each other since they were sixteen. They’ve supported each other through the rigors of dating, marriage, and parenting. Now a pair of self-described “wise and helpful old crones,” they’re on a mission—to save Marie’s granddaughter Samantha from herself. Samantha’s on her way to college, but she doesn’t plan on staying long. As soon as she finds “Mr. Right,” she’s going to get married and drop out. The crones can’t believe a modern young woman would have such ideas. With age comes wisdom—and the awareness of when to take a gentle approach to a problem. Care packages from Samantha’s grandmother and godmother begin showing up unannounced, along with letters filled with stories and advice. Marie and Joan find themselves a hit at the dorm. Their letters transform into a Google Hangout with Samantha and her friends, where two wise and helpful women can share their knowledge with a new generation.
