His young deputy, Richie Collins, takes over with the law firmly established. Foster, still determined to run Pine Bluffs as part of his scheme for higher stakes, engineers his gunmen's gaol-break. Their return sparks off murder, resulting in Richie's killing. Cap rides on a trail of revenge which uncovers the real reason for the return of the gunmen and brings a final showdown on the streets of Pine Bluffs.
