The Sampan and The Galleon is a peculiar book. The style of the writing is forthright, candid and provocative. The text wanders through a series of arguably disjointed philosophical, scientific and biographical themes, which, when melded together, present a unique cameo of an individual attempt to scrutinise the significance, or, perhaps more to the point, insignificance of human life.
