Mimosa Shenson, daughter of a brilliant historian, finds herself orphaned and penniless in Tunisia, until the opportunity arises to step into the shoes of her wealthy young cousin, who is missing, perhaps kidnapped. Mimosa is innocent of her cousin's scandalous reputation, which lures to her luxurious villa the dashing Duke of Alrock, fresh from the pleasures of Paris. The Duke is fascinated by Roman archaeology, and soon the two are off to explore the ruins of an ancient Phoenician city. Attacked by malefactors, the Duke and his lovely guide prevail, and claim their reward of a lifetime of love.
