Maudie Mole certainly needed spectacles. First of all, she couldn't find the gold umbrella she had worked so hard to prepare for Queen Emily's coronation present. So she had to give a cookie jar instead. And then, on her way to the celebration, she kept mistaking other things for the umbrella. And that got her into lots of trouble. How Maudie finally solved the missing umbrella mystery in a way that didn't require eyeglasses (or anything else but a friendly heart) makes a warm and funny story.
