Various sections deal with artistic and commercial lithography, autographie, chromolithography, zincography, photolithography, phototypie, photoglyptie and heliogravure. Each of the sections is illustrated with at least one specimen plate. The tools and presses are well described and illustrated. 'The lithographic firm of Lemercier, 57 rue de Seine, was founded by Joseph Lemercier in 1827. By mid-century his nephew, Alfred, had become his partner.
