Ginny Darboone, owner of a dance school in a small south Louisiana town, has settled into a sublime life revolving around a few special people: her father; her best friend, brash and explosive Annie Ruiz; and her boyfriend, Alex Babin, a professional baseball player. That is about to change forever. Following a grisly discovery made deep in Louisiana's Atchafalaya Basin during a fishing trip, Ginny descends into nightmare world of kidnapping, murder, deception and stunning surprises. Terrorized by one-eyed killer, John Stark, and an unknown accomplice, the normally self-confident and resourceful woman must run for her life. Finally, an unsettling encounter with a grieving, young widow forces her to look deep within herself for desperate solutions to her dilemma.
