When his friends rescue him on a secret operative mission in fascist Spain, he begins to see life in a different way. Conscription on all young and able males in the forthcoming second war stalls his passion for the cause once again, but upon returning back to his motherland, he must weld a broken home shrouded in secrecy and betrayal.
