An anthology of new (American) poets

the long version

"An Anthology of New (American) Poets brings together representative selections from thirty-five of the most promising young American poets at work today. Their work is characterized by experimentation with form, a revitalized interest in the lyric, and an undogmatic concern with questions of language and writing. Painting, philosophy, cross-cultural myth, and the critique of popular culture all play roles in the work, which is conscious of traditions but not beholden to them."--BOOK JACKET.
