the long version

Nuguyen Huyen and Nguyen Tue, brothers, were successful in their doctorial examinations at the Palace of High Learning at Hanoi, Vietnam, in 1511. Nguyen Tue's son, Nguyen Uyen, was made a doctor at the 1535 session. He is the ancestor of the Nguyen family of Kim Bai Village on the banks of the Hat River in north Vietnam. The family was a family of scholars and teachers. The genealogy is based on a family chronicle written by the author's grandfather, Nguyen Ba Tiep, in Chinese script, ca. 1910. It includes memories of the author's family and his village, Kim Bai, which he left in 1948.
