Cameron Kyle had warned Rose Barbour that there were many kinds of wickedness in Edinburgh and, indeed, she found herself caught up in a world of shadows and mystery. There was the sinister yet exciting Deacon Brodie — respected citizen by day — but what ‘business’ took him out after dark?
