the long version

Could she make a go of child rearing? Lorraine Ellis didn't know-her modeling career certainly hadn't prepared her for it--but she was determined to try. The loss of her brother had made her painfully aware of how alone she was. Yet she couldn't let her niece and nephew be shunted off to the custody of the grandparents who'd ignored their existence until now. So she was grateful when her neighbor, Jason Fletcher, offered his help. Attractive and charming, Jason was the answer to any woman's prayer--and Lorraine just hoped she could trust him. --------- She was in the living-room when Jason caught up with her and swung her round to face him. 'What's got into you, Lorraine? You can't deny there's something between us.'   Mutely she met his eyes, accepting that he spoke the truth, yet loath to acknowledge the excitement he aroused in her. Aware of it, he pulled her hard against him.   'You're a woman with normal, healthy desires, so why fight them?'   It was the age-old cry of a man on the make, and it angered her so much that passion died and she found it easy to pull away from him.   'I may have healthy desires, Jason, but I don't think it healthy to give in to them just because the mood takes me!'
