A colourfully-dressed Bedouin, brandishing a sword, interrupts the breakfast of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson with a cryptic message of warning: stay away from the affairs of his people, or risk fatal consequences ... Before long, the detective and his assistant are dispatched to the Vatican to investigate the murder of Cardinal Tosca. Clues point towards their Bedouin intruder as the culprit, and the involvement of the Coptic Church.
