The illustrated history of rock music

the long version

"Rock and roll, the first music aimed directly at and played by the young, became a force that helped change the lives of millions. 'The Illustrated History of Rock Music' tells its story from its creation in the 1950s through the beat, psychedelic and underground music of the 1960s to the diverging sounds of to-day. The groups and artists who took the music both to new heights and depths are discussed and the events which shaped the development of the music are charted. There are detailed accounts of the music's major figures, including Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin, and lavish Illustrations throughout to make this a truly comprehensive chronicle of the music of our time." --Dust Jacket.
