Henry Winterfeld (Manfred Michael)

Henry Winterfeld, born April 9, 1901, was a German writer and artist famous for his children's and young adult novels. His works were published under the pseudonym Manfred Michael. Being Jewish, he emigrated during World War II to the U.S. in 1940 and lived there until his death.
