John Fraser

John Fraser was born in North London. He was a boarder at a country grammar school during the war. He did two years of National Service in the R.A.F. In 1948 he attended Balliol College, Oxford as an Exhibitioner (junior scholar). He then taught high-school in Israel for two years, then moved to the U.S. In 1961 he received a Ph.D. in English from the University of Minnesota.
