Charles E. Chapin

Charles Chapin was born in upstate Watertown, New York. At age fourteen, he went to work for a Kansas newspaper. He later moved to Chicago to work for The Tribune, where he gained renown as a crime reporter. In 1989 he was hired away from The Tribune by New York City newspaper The World.
