Virgilio Ilari

Born in Rome, November 2, 1948. He was professor of History of Roman Law in the universities of Rome (1974) and Macerata (1979), then professor of history of military institutions at the Catholic University of Milan (1989-2010). In 2006 he donated his Military Library of about 25,000 books and documents to the Civic Library of Varallo (Piedmont). He created a Digital Military Library of some 70,000 books and documents.
