the long version

""Sheds," grew from my article, "Sheds," in the Block Island Times. To me, a "Shed" is simply a metaphor for where we store, and work on our passion. I simply extended the metaphor. In this book I explored the "Sheds" of Mark Twain, Edith Wharton, Arthur Miller, and other notables. Moreover, I explored the "Sheds" of some contemporary artists: Cameron Greenlee, a sailor/musician; Diane Gay, a painter; Jane Musky, a production designer in the film business; Tim Philbrick, a furniture designer, and several others. Pen and ink art helps enhance the metaphor. "Sheds" begs the question, "What or Where is your "Shed?""
