the long version

The American Revolution may have ended, but life for the settlers of the land over the Appalachian Mountains was hardly settled. British attempts to drive the Americans out of the land and hostilities with the Cherokees put a tremendous strain upon the inhabitants. Nathaniel "Fox" Carter, part-Cherokee, finds himself caught in the region's increasing unrest. When he decides to explore his ancestry, he is befriended by Hannah Spencer, who tries to help him discover who he is and where he belongs. Little does he know that forces from both sides of his heritage are conspiring toward his destruction. Will Hannah be able to convince Carter that working for the cause of war is not the right path to follow?
