Sobre o livro
"The book by Andrei Belavin, professor of Perm State Pedagogical University, tells about extensive archaeological material of the Medieval epoch, which characterises distant and near trade relations of the Finno-Ugrian population of the Western slopes of the Northern and Middle Urals. The author analyses the relations of the Pre-Ural region with the Volga-Bulgaria, Rus, Finnish population of the Upper Volga and the Northwest of Russia, Ugrian population of Western Siberia in the 9-15th centuries AD. The author proves the important role of the Volga-Bulgaria as the trade and political intermediary in the relations of Uralians with other regions of Europe. The author considers that the Russian population penetrated into the Kama region in the same stream of migration that brought in Western Finns. The process resulted in the formation of the Finnish-speaking population of the Kama region known as Komi-Permiaks since the 15th century. In the 11-13th century this population replaced the Ugrian inhabitants of the Kama region which had been referred to in the Eastern ancient records as 'the country and people of Visu'. Many unique medieval artefacts found in the Perm region are first published in the book"--P. [199].
