Lapriyè Ginen

The book contains not only prayers but also detailed information regarding this religion. The work entitled "Lapriyè Ginen" is composed of the following four parts: 1 - La priyè Sen Franswa - Sen Dominiki, 2 - La Litanie Djo, 3 - La priyè Djo, 4 - Les Bouhoun or funeral songs. In this repertoire of Haitian Vodou prayers, the word "Ginen" is presented in its various aspects and on several levels, as a geographical space, a mystical place,etc. Prayers accompany rituals performed in many Houmfò from different regions of the country are accessible to all. Litanies and prayers, communication between the living and the dead is possible and manifests itself through requests, wishes of thanks, complaints and sighs... Isn't prayer a thread that connects the two visible and invisible worlds by mean of silent or spoken words, by moment of meditation, by finding its locomotiveness thanks to the faith of the believer.
