Every female of the ancient House of Wenshar was possessed of a powerful magic but their line is long dead, their desert city in ruins. Yet there is still magic in Wenshar: the lady Kaletha has some gift for it and will train her neophytes to free their own talents. After his adventures in Mandrigyn, Sun Wolf the mercenary seeks her out to train his own new-found magic. Shortly after his arrival a series of horrific supernatural killings turns Wenshar into a snakepit of superstitious fear and loathing.
