Two writers, a deceased mother and her seventy-year-old son, Pancho, isolated in a palace near the sea in Galicia, are attended by an enigmatic old servant woman. The past haunts them with the unexpected visit of a man who had been Pancho{u2019}s secretary twenty years before. Soon, a child, this man{u2019}s son, moves into the palace, taking events to a tragic, ironic and surprising ending. This novel was made into a Spanish language movie: "El juego de los mensajes invisibles" (The Game of the Invisible Messages... 1991).
