Rebellious sixteen-year-old Lindsay Samuels runs away from her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in hopes of escaping an all-girls school and a dysfunctional family. When she meets Mike, an older guy with a crooked smile and a black Metallica T-shirt, she thinks she’s found a kindred spirit. The two set off on a road trip, eager for adventure. Too late, Lindsay realizes that Mike is a drug dealer on the prowl for trouble. When they get in a car accident, Lindsay manages to limp away from the scene, narrowly escaping the police. When the authorities arrest Mike for drug possession, Lindsay thinks her troubles are over. Unfortunately, Mike is manipulating and cunning, conning his way out of jail and capturing Lindsay again. Lindsay falls deeper into Mike’s dark world with each passing day. She longs for her family but fears she may never see them again. When Mike sets his sights on other, more dangerous crimes, Lindsay knows she must escape before she succumbs to a devastating fate.
