Faraday's popcorn factory

When Willow, a black woman living in the town of Good Sky, Indiana, meets the new neighbor across the way, she finds her heart opening for the first time since James left her almost ten years ago. Clement is attentive and kind, funny and courtly, and ... well, just a little strange. But strange, Willow muses, is not the worst thing you could say about a man, and besides, she likes the feeling of coming to life again, as the icicles around her heart melt, letting in the wind and the sun, the stars and the melody of the seasons.
