When a baby is snatched from outside a Birmingham newsagent's, Detective Inspector Sarah Quinn and feisty TV reporter Caroline King clash head-on in the desperate search to find her. For these two strong, intelligent women make no secret of their loathing for one another. Quinn's cool, controlled investigative methods contrast with those of the less scrupulous King, who'll stop at nothing in pursuit of a good story. As the investigation stone walls, one thing becomes clear: if the police are to have any chance of catching the kidnapper, then these two decdicated professionals should be working with, rather than against, one another. But is that asking the impossible?
