Chiefly a record of the life of Samuel Bell Maxey. He was born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, 30 Mar 1825 to Rice Maxey, son of William Maxey, and Lucetta Pope Bell, daughter of Samuel Bell and Lucetta Pope. He married Mailda Cass Denton, daughter of George N. Denton, 19 June 1853 in Clinton County, Kentucky. He died 16 Aug 1895.
