This book introduces Judaism to a Christian audience. after looking at the nature of Judaism, the author describes its festivals and the Jewish year. he describes practices at home, especially on the Sabbath, rites of passage from circumcision to burial, and worship in the synagogue. then he turns to the torah and its interpretation and to the history of the jewish people over more than three thousand years. separate chapters are devoted to jews in the modern world and varieties of judaism and the book ends with a discussion of antisemitism and the vision of a new relationship between jews and christians.
