the long version
The artist couple Hermann Euler and Daisy Campi left a lasting mark on the 20th-century art landscape of the Chiemgau region of Germany. With this comprehensive publication their work is being honored for the first time. Hermann Euler, who studied at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, oriented himself on the work of Matisse and Munch and developed in his still lifes and intimate garden pieces his own singularly expressive pictorial language, rendered in glowing colors. Daisy Campi’s lyrical temperament found expression primarily in captivating pictures of her travels. This book not only writes a chapter of southern German art history, but also provides insights into a story of mutual artistic inspiration spanning five decades. Both artists belonged to the Munich Secession.
