Heroine is living on a kibbutz after her parents divorce. She is very bitter about her fathers remarriage. Her father sends the hero, morgan, to bring her back to england. He has picked up a classic car to take back for a friend so they embark on a one month voyage on a ship. On the voyage they fall in love and marry but her ongoing hurt over her parents divorce, her dislike of her stepmother and her distrust of Morgan's motives get in the way of their happiness.
