Daniel now has a stoneless Scepter as his bitter reward for saving the fairy settlement. The little band sets out to locate the emerald of Phaunos, one of the four gems that gave the Scepter its power. Can they recover the stolen gem from the tree people of the Acheron forest before the diegylis, an army of half man/half werewolf beasts, destroys them?
