The Captain Remembers

Compilation of the letters and essays of Captain Richard Irby, Of The Nottoway Grays, Company G, Eighteenth Regiment, of The Army of Northern Virginia. He describes his life in Nottoway County and his role in the Development of Randolph-Macon Men's College( now known as Randolph Macon College). He also records his years in service of The Army of Northern Virginia, where he was wounded at the 1st battle of Manassas.
