Oblong is far too conscientious for the Duke and the rest of his knights, who want a rest from succouring the poor and needy. So he is persuaded to go on a mission to the Bolligrew Islands to subdue the wicked Baron who tyrannises the peasants and pulls down churches. Eventually, of course, Right triumphs, the Baron departs to hunt dragons in the North, and Oblong rules in his place.
