High Hostage

After the death of her husband, Alix Johnston sets off on what is supposed to he a holiday on the exotic island of Corfu. Hiding out on the island is Cary, her husband's cousin, a notorious financier who is wanted by the police. Alix discovers that his son, Benjamin, is being kept a virtual prisoner on the island. Conscience, loyalty and fear sweep Alix into a smuggling plot filled with intrigue and danger. Drawn deeper into the devious scheme for Benjamin's sake, Alix must ultimately deceive the one man who can help her—and with whom she has fallen in love—and finds herself aiding a murderer in an escape plot that takes her and Benjamin on a dangerous journey through the island mountains where Alix discovers she is the hostage.
