Trailmaster Ben Murdock already had enough on his hands when the sky busted open and brought the five thousand head of cattle to a near stampede in the storm. But that was nothing compared to the trouble ahead for this outfit riding across Kansas with a herd to deliver ... an outfit whose loyalties were split like lightning between the trailmaster and the arrogant Wilson Stiles, one of the owners of the herd. What happens when this bunch of hard-riding cowboys descends on Eden Grove puts the new little town on the Kansas map in ways its people had never envisioned. And Ben Murdock finds himself facing a challenge he can't refuse, and a threat to his life he can't escape.
