They called her Auld Nally - a moneylender in one of Glasgow's roughest areas, Inchcraig. Once, though, she'd been Alice McInally from Belfast, beautiful and beloved by her childhood sweetheart. But his family was Catholic and hers Protestant, and opposition to their marriage plans meant they must leave Ireland and their well-to-do families. However, their dream for their future founders in war-torn Glasgow, and Alice struggles to make ends meet.
