Songs Remembered

"Songs Remembered " is a labor of love! Shan Gurdev Singh was concerned that the original folk songs of Punjab were being lost, or remixed to fit in with Bollywood requirements. To preserve a part of Punjabi culture for the younger generation, and for future generations, she gathered together a wonderful representation of Punjabi folk songs - some still sung, and some that are "vintage." She then translated these songs into English,so that people could understand them. Shan also wrote them in 'Romanized Punjabi, to help those who can speak Punjabi, but cannot read it. All this was done in long hand - at the age of 83! The book is truly a treasure!
