1956. In Montreal, in a prison cell in Bordeaux, Raymond is a youth sentenced to death and awaiting execution. What led the young man to kill his aunt with whom he had an affair? The author recreates the atmosphere of the 1950s transition period in which modernity is generating enthusiasm and optimism, but where conservative values still govern behavior. The case divide public opinion and raises a lot of passion, but criminals are still being sentenced to death.
