the long version
It is widely known that Roosevelt was a robust outdoorsman, a New York politician and a ‘Rough-Rider’ in the Spanish-American War before he became U.S. President. Note: This was originally a four-volume work when published from 1889-96, but was re-published repeatedly. Some later editions were apparently repackaged into varying numbers of volumes.
