His installations make palpable the effects of social parameters on human consciousness and convey the ambivalent perceptions thar characterise our relations with the world. memories, emotions, fear, scepticism and shame. Whereas critical cultural analyses occasionally lead us to believe that only spectacular perfomances and dramatic media appearances can attract public attention and interest these days, Vittorio Santoro convinces us otherwise. Both his person and his work exude aloofness. Abounding in half-articulated meaning, his artistic language leaves a great deal unsaid.
