Founded in 1880, the **Revue des Études Juives** (Journal of Jewish Studies), abbreviated **REJ**, is a French quarterly, published by the *Société des Études Juives* (Society of Jewish Studies), under the editorship of [Isidore Loeb (1839-1892)][1], and and after his death under that of [Israël Lévi (1856-1939)][2].    The *REJ* is devoted to the study of all aspects of Judaism throughout history according to scientific methods and to the printing of unpublished texts concerning Judaism. It publishes research on religion, history, literature and Jewish societies, mainly in that they relate to the Jews in France, as well as the work of anthropology. The *REJ* is arranged in volumes, two of which contain the records for the year. Each of these volumes consists of two numbers. The articles are chiefly in French; some also German, English, or in Hebrew. Many volumes include *Actes et conférences* of the *Société des études juives (France)*. The majority of the volumes contains also a special bibliographical section devoted to reviews of works on Judaism.    The volumes 1 – 117 of the *REJ* were issued by the [*Société des Études Juives*][3]; from volume 118 on it was issued by the *Société des Études Juives* and the [*Ecole pratique des Hautes Études*][4], *Section des sciences économiques et sociales*.
