One morning while out hunting, a king discovers a mysterious creature wearing a rainbow coat made from the feathers of many different birds. To his amazement, the creature is a young girl who cannot - or will not - speak. Puzzled by her regal air yet humble appearance, the king puts her to work in the palace kitchens. Later he throws a sumptuous masked ball, but a beautiful stranger soon eclipses the lavish banquet. The king is captivated, but in an instant she has vanished and he doesn't know her name, much less how to find her again.
