A star for courage

In the first story Oregon teen Katie Bradshaw stumbles into a life-threatening adventure, trying to show her classmates she doesn't care whether they accept her or not. She discovers some hard truths about stereotypes and courage when she enlists her friend Laura in helping her tackle an unsolved jewelry heist, but a tide is rising--and it might be too late. In the second story Jessica Williams wishes she were anywhere other than Preston, Oregon. Except for a few skateboarders, all the kids there are the same. Life is pretty dull -- until high school junior skateboard pro Cam Easton arrives from California. Cam wants greater community support for skateboarders, and Jessica wants Cam to be in love -- with her.
