The wake up

Recovering a long-suppressed ability to feel the emotions of others, a 40-year-old cattle rancher falls in love with a single mother whose son is struggling with trauma from experiences with an abusive father. During a hunting trip, cattle rancher Aiden Delacorte is suddenly attuned to the animals around him, feeling their pain and fear as if it were his own. This newfound sensitivity has its price: he can no longer sleepwalk through life, holding everyone at arm's length. Aiden falls in love with Gwen, a single mother whose young son Milo is sullen and broken from his experiences with an abusive father, and has turned to acting out in violent and rebellious ways. Aiden and Milo must sift through their pasts to come to terms with their deepest fears, and to finally discover the compassionate heart of a family.
