This text is intended for undergraduates who have a limited knowledge of the physical sciences. It is designed as an aid to the understanding of the application of physico-chemical principles to biological situations, and is intended to be used in conjunction with other books that deal with cell biology and metabolism, and with the physiology of plants and animals.
