Having stood by his friends while they fought for their own happiness, Gislebert now sets out from Margate Castle to secure his own: the hand of the fair Nadine, whose beauty stole his heart when he was a boy. Along the way he meets Jonas, a young man with a sharp tongue and thorny personality. Although Gislebert is running toward something and Jonas is running away, they decide to make their journey together. They face danger and adventure, good fortune and bad, and Jonas sticks by the lovesick Gislebert through everything. All the while, however, Jonas harbors a secret that could alter their friendship, and one that may put both their lives in jeopardy.
