William Southam (1843- 1932), their son, became a newspaperman at twelve, married Wilson McNeilage Mills, and established the Southam Press--which developed various daily newspapers in the provinces of Québec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Includes the history of these newspapers (and of some of their competition) and of the Southam Press.
