Surprises, intrigues, suspense all through. This novel was partly inspired by the life of King Nasiruddin Haider who ruled the British Indian state of Awadh from 1827-37. But the situations developed in the book are a work of fiction. This book was first published (hardcover) by Jonathan Cape Ltd. in 1992. Title in French: Tourbillon d'Ombres (Editions Ramsay). The author Vijay Singh is a well-known Indian writer, film-maker and screenplay writer living in Paris, France.
